Re“cap”: Time to Decorate Those Mortarboards
Seniors preparing to graduate in December met up for a recent cap decorating party. The event, sponsored by Student Transition Programs, was designed “to highlight students graduating and what they’ve accomplished while at UT Dallas,” according to program coordinator Karen McAlister.
Supplies included construction paper, foam board, ribbons, sharpies, stick-on jewels, a glue station, and stickers for military branches, Marvel comic books, the State of Texas, the sciences and sports.
Organizers hope to add an online design contest in the spring.
Senior Stephen Praytor manned the spell-check station to make sure no one made a typo on their cap. “I’m a literature major. I spell all the time,” Praytor said.
